FAQ

Does my child need any martial arts experience to start?

Not at all. Dragon Academy is designed to meet every student exactly where they are. Whether your child has never thrown a kick in their life or has some experience already, they'll be welcomed and challenged at the right level, growing from day one.

What grades do you accept?

Dragon Academy is built specifically for students in Grades K–5. Every part of the program — the schedule, the instruction, and the mentorship — is designed with elementary school students in mind.

What does a typical day look like?

Students arrive with caregiver or by school bus, decompress with a snack, move through enrichment and leadership activities, receive martial arts instruction, and finish with a cool-down reflection before pick-up at 6:00 PM. Every hour has a purpose. You can see the full daily schedule above.

How does drop-off and pick-up work?

Let the school know your child is attending the program, and they will help you arrange bus transportation directly from school to Dragon Academy through select OCS. Pick-up is at 6:00 PM at our Dojo. If you ever need to make other arrangements, just let us know in advance.

Do you follow the school calendar?

Yes. Dragon Academy follows the local school calendar for holidays and closures, so you never have to worry about scheduling conflicts.

Is there a long-term contract?

Membership Is month to month and you may cancel 2-weeks prior to next billing cycle.

How small are the groups?

We keep groups intentionally small. Dragon Academy is not a drop-off babysitting program — it's a mentorship-driven environment where Sensei Charles knows every student by name, tracks their progress, and holds them to a high standard.

What if my child is shy or has a hard time in group settings?

This program was built for exactly that child. The structure, small group size, and mentorship model are designed to help kids who struggle in large or unstructured environments find their confidence and voice. Many of our most transformed students started as the quietest ones in the room.
